Reflexology for pioneering schools

who are looking after learners’ health and wellbeing to enable them to get the best out of school.

Reflexology can help focus learner’s attention; adapt their behaviour; boost their immune system; reduce the number of sickness days they take; reduce symptoms of stress and anxiety; calm their nervous system; and give them the chance to discuss their feelings openly during treatments.

More and more schools and parents are recognising the value of Reflexology. Adweitheg Kelly Lewis Reflexology provides individual treatments for learners and staff; class workshops; and is able to be used as part of your behaviour strategy for learners who are taken out of whole class situations.

Workshops and lessons that have been taught in the past include:

  • Seasonal workshops to help alleviate health symptoms e.g. winter wellness sessions to reduce the symptoms of coughs, colds and sore throats to reduce absenteeism; summer allergy workshops that help learners manage symptoms that are associated with hay fever for example, so that they can concentrate in class and can ensure that their symptoms do not cut across learning during spring and summer time.
  • Stress and anxiety management during examination periods.
  • Improving sleep patterns so that learners (and parents) can get the rest that they need, facilitating positive behaviour to perform at their best in school.
  • Workshops that integrate reflexology techniques into a specific schematic theme or lesson.

Group Reflexology Sessions

The aim of group Reflexology therapy is to induce relaxation, improve mood, relieve tension, alleviate stress, encourage social interaction and support an individual’s health and wellbeing in a fun, caring and interactive way – sessions are great for enrichment days, PSHE lessons, Welsh Baccalaureate lessons, and even pastoral care assemblies.

It is the perfect time to incorporate Reflexology lessons or workshop days into your new curriculum planning and AoLEs, where I usually cover topics in Primary Schools such as Reflexology with sport; physical activity; a balanced diet; personal care and hygiene; sleep; protection from infection; emotions; and caring for and respecting others.

With 20+ years of experience teaching in Secondary Schools I am adept at creating a lesson to suit your needs. Whether you want a cross curricular lesson that incorporates Reflexology, Health and Wellbeing with Welsh, Biology, Art, Geography, History, or Digital Competency/Literacy/Numeracy skills – I can do it.

All workshops and lessons are tailor made to the specific needs of your learners, considering their previous learning and preferential learning styles. Please call or email to let me know how I can help.
